Why Raw

Why feed your dog RAW food (aka B.A.R.F diets)

"Biologically Appropriate Raw Feeding (BARF) is about feeding dogs properly. The aim of BARF is to maximize the health, longevity and reproductive capacity of dogs and by so doing, minimize the need for veterinary intervention. How do you feed a dog properly? You feed it the diet that it evolved to eat. ... Artificial grain based dog foods cause innumerable health problems. They are not what your dog was programmed to eat during its long process of evolution. A biologically appropriate diet for a dog is one that consists of raw whole foods similar to those eaten by the dogs’ wild ancestors. The food fed must contain the same balance and type of ingredients as consumed by those wild ancestors. This food will include such things as muscle meat, bone, fat, organ meat and vegetable materials and any other foods that will mimic what was those wild ancestors ate.”

Raw dog food is what nature intended

Raw foods have the most readily available protein, calcium and other nutrients. It doesn't matter how packed with nutrients a food is if your dog's body can't absorb and use them. Many grocery store brands are so processed and contain such low quality ingredients that they can do more harm than good. Over processed foods often contain harmful additives. The average dog eats 7 pounds of preservatives per year, all of which must be processed by the kidneys. Kidney failure is a leading cause of death for dogs.

Our foods and treats are USDA inspected and safe.

Some pet food companies put things like corn and wheat in their foods as fillers. Some even use strange by products from countries who don't control the safety or quality of their products at all!. Dogs can't digest grains and many dogs are allergic to wheat. The allergy can lead to lethargic behavior, dry skin or much worse symptoms. Unbelievably, some companies even put ingredients like onions and garlic in their dog food - these ingredients are known to be toxic to dogs! Many dog chef's make the mistake of formulating food that they want, not what their dogs need.
